Solavel tells you about changes to your team, your plans and the platform through the notification bell in the portal's top bar and the Notifications page. You can also receive them by email and choose which categories reach your inbox.
Where to find it
- Bell — top bar of every portal page, beside the language and theme buttons. A badge shows the unread count (up to 99+).
- Notifications page — View all notifications at the bottom of the bell panel, or URL
/notifications. - Notification preferences — button at the top-right of the Notifications page, Account Settings → Preferences → Notification preferences, or URL
/notifications/preferences.
The bell
- Click the bell. A panel titled Notifications opens with your most recent notifications.
- Click a notification to open the page it refers to (for example the organization's Members page).
- Mark all as read (panel header) clears the unread badge.
- View all notifications (panel footer) opens the full page.
Empty: "You're all caught up." Press Escape or click outside to close the panel. It also closes when you move to another page.
The Notifications page
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| All / Unread | Switches between every notification and unread only. Each shows a count. |
| Category chips | Everything, Team, Billing, System, Security, Feature updates, Maintenance, Issue fixed, Feedback, Messages. Only categories you have notifications in are shown. |
| Day groups | Today, Yesterday, then weekday or date. |
| Mark as read | On each unread notification. |
| Dismiss | Removes it from your list. |
| Mark all as read | Top-right, when you have unread items. |
| Notification preferences | Top-right. |
Empty: "You're all caught up." (or "No unread notifications") — "When someone joins your team, changes roles or gets app access, you'll see it here."
Marking as read and dismissing need no confirmation. If marking as read cannot be confirmed (for example a dropped connection), you may see "Could not confirm that this notification was marked as read. You can still open its destination."
Which events notify you
Team (Owners and Organization Managers of the organization)
| Event | Title / text |
|---|---|
| An invited person accepts | "Name joined Organization" — "Name accepted your invitation and joined as Role with access to apps." |
| Someone adds a member | "Actor added Name as Role." |
| Organization role changed | "Actor changed Name's role in Organization from Old to New." |
| App access granted | "Actor gave Name access to app (role) in Organization." |
| App access removed | "Actor removed Name's access to apps in Organization." |
| App role changed | "Actor made Name role in Organization." |
| Member removed | "Actor removed Name from the team." |
These link to View team (the organization's Members page). The person who made the change is not notified about their own action.
You (the member affected)
- "Welcome to Organization" — "You joined as Role. You can open apps from your portal."
- Notices when your role or app access changes, for example "Your app role changed", or when you are removed.
These link to Open portal.
Billing (Owners)
- "Your plan is active" — a paid-plan activation request was completed.
- "Plan activation request declined".
- "App plan expired" — "Organization's Plan plan for App has ended."
Warehouse and purchasing alerts (SolaStock users)
People who can dispatch or receive goods in a SolaStock warehouse get a System notification when a SolaCount sale or purchase creates, changes or closes a fulfilment or receiving request, for example Sale ready for dispatch or Purchase fully received. They are in-app only, written in English and Arabic, and sent once per real change. Integration administrators also get alerts when a document or record could not be handed to SolaCount. The full list of titles and what to do is in Warehouse and purchasing alerts.
Platform messages
The Solavel team may send System, Security, Maintenance, Feature updates, Issue fixed (a problem you reported was resolved), Feedback and Messages notifications, for example about planned maintenance.
Inside each app
Apps have their own notifications, which are separate from the portal bell:
| App | Where |
|---|---|
| SolaCount | Bell dropdown in the top bar and a notification centre. Covers bank reconciliation due/overdue, failed recurring templates, approval workflow steps and inventory reorder alerts. It also shows portal notifications read-only. |
| SolaProjects | Bell in the top bar with an unread count (opens the Notifications page; also in the sidebar), with read/unread and preferences. |
| SolaHR | Bell in the top bar linking to its Notifications page. |
| SolaStock | No notification centre; messages appear on the page. |
Email preferences
Open Notification preferences:
- Email notifications — tick to receive notifications by email as well.
- Disable email for these categories — tick any category you don't want by email.
- Email frequency — immediate, daily or weekly.
- Click Save.
"In-app notifications remain enabled." You always see notifications in the bell, whatever your email settings.
Worked example
Mariam owns Al Noor Trading LLC; Omar is its Organization Manager. Mariam changes Sara's SolaCount role from Accountant (Member) to Finance Manager.
- Omar's bell shows "Mariam Al Hashimi made Sara Ahmed Finance Manager (SolaCount) in Al Noor Trading LLC." with View team.
- Sara gets "Your app role changed".
- Mariam gets nothing, because she made the change.
Omar has set email to daily and disabled email for Team, so he only sees it in the bell.
