The top bar is the strip across the top of every SolaProjects page. It is how you switch organization, search the whole app, add something quickly, check your notifications, change language or theme, and reach the rest of Solavel (the Solavel portal and your other apps). Since 10 October 2026 it has the same structure as the SolaHR top bar, drawn in SolaProjects colours.
Use it whenever you want to leave the page you are on without hunting through the sidebar: jump to a project with Ctrl K, log your time from anywhere, or hop to SolaCount in one click.
Where to find it
It is always visible at the top of the app, on every page and on every plan. On phones it shrinks (see On small screens).
Who sees what: everyone with SolaProjects access sees the bar. Some items depend on your role or your organization, as noted in the tables below.
What is in the bar, from left to right

Switch organization
Click the organization pill. The menu has up to three parts:
- Switch organization – your current organization at the top, with a check mark.
- The other organizations where you are an active member, listed by name with their logo.
- Other workspaces – organizations that belong to a different Solavel account (for example a client who invited you). Each has a small arrow-out icon.
What happens when you click:

If you are only in one organization the pill still shows the name but has no arrow and does not open.
The account menu
Click your initials at the right end of the bar. The menu shows, top to bottom:

Notes on Your apps:
- Solavel checks your access for the whole list at once and the answer is remembered for 5 minutes. If an owner has just given you access to SolaCount, the tile can take up to 5 minutes to appear.
- If Solavel cannot be reached at that moment, the app tiles are left out (the Solavel portal card and the Documentation tile still show). Reload the page to try again.
- A tile means "you may open it". The app checks your access again when it opens, so a tile can never give you more than your role allows.
On small screens
- At about 1100 px wide the word SolaProjects and the keyboard hint disappear. At about 900 px the search box becomes a single magnifier button. On phones the logo hides and the organization pill takes the free space.
- Language, theme and notifications move into the account menu; the dropdowns open as a full-width panel just under the bar so they never run off the screen.
- Resizing the window (rotating a tablet, dragging the window edge) closes a sidebar drawer that was left open; changing only the height, for example when the phone keyboard opens, does not. Your icons-only or full-label sidebar choice on desktop is kept.
Worked examples
Example 1 – Layla logs time and checks SolaCount without leaving her seat
Layla Hassan is a Projects Member at Al Noor Trading LLC in Dubai, working on the Al Noor Showroom Fit-out project.
- She finishes installing display lighting and clicks Quick add → Log my time. My Time opens.
- She logs 3.5 hours against
ALN-FIT-14. - She wants to see whether the supplier invoice for the lights (AED 18,400) was posted. She opens the account menu and clicks the SolaCount tile. SolaCount opens in a new tab, so her SolaProjects tab with My Time is still there when she returns.
- Back in the first tab she presses Ctrl K, types Jumeirah and jumps to Jumeirah Villa Renovation.
Example 2 – Omar manages two organizations
Omar Haddad is Projects Administrator of Al Noor Trading LLC and Al Noor Logistics FZE.
- The organization pill reads Al Noor Trading LLC with a small arrow. He clicks it. The menu shows a check mark on Al Noor Trading LLC, then Al Noor Logistics FZE.
- He clicks Al Noor Logistics FZE. The page reloads on that organization's Dashboard with Switched to Al Noor Logistics FZE.
- He opens the menu again and, by habit, clicks Al Noor Logistics FZE once more. The menu just closes; he is not sent back to the Dashboard.
- In the account menu he clicks Plans & billing; the plans page of Al Noor Logistics FZE opens in a new tab so he can check how many seats are left.
