Tasks

Last updated

The Tasks tab is where the project's work lives. Every piece of work is a task with a key (for example ALN-FIT-14), a status, a priority, an assignee and dates. You can see tasks as a Kanban Board, a List or a dense Table, filter and group them, save views, update many at once, and open any task in a side panel to edit it and manage its subtasks, checklists, comments, attachments, followers, labels, custom fields, dependencies, recurrence and planning links.

Managers plan and assign work here; members update the tasks assigned to them; viewers and guests follow progress.

Where to find it

How Details
Sidebar Project → Tasks (list-check icon), second project tab.
From other pages Dashboard Latest tasks, Calendar task cards, notification Open links and the project Overview open tasks here (with ?task=ID the task panel opens directly).
Command palette Ctrl K → Tasks · project name.
URL /projects/{project}/tasks.

Who sees it: everyone who can open the project. Project Viewers (guests) see only tasks marked Guest-visible that are not Private. Tasks are part of every plan.

The Tasks tab uses the full width of the page (no breadcrumb row).

Worked examples

Example 1 — a member updates her task

Sara Khan (Member) opens Al Noor Showroom Fit-out → Tasks (Board). In In Progress she drags ALN-FIT-14 · Install display lighting to Review. She opens it, sets Progress 90, ticks the last checklist item Test dimmers, writes "@omar haddad ready for review" and clicks Save changes → Task saved. Omar gets You were mentioned.

Example 2 — a manager plans a week

Omar Haddad (Manager) prepares the snagging phase.

  1. New task: Title Snag list walkthrough, Status To Do, Priority High, Assignee Yousef Ali, Reviewer Omar Haddad, Due 2026-10-11, Estimate minutes 240, Type Task, Guest-visible ticked → Create task → ALN-FIT-43.
  2. He adds a Blocked by dependency on ALN-FIT-14 and links the task to milestone Handover under Planning.
  3. He sets Recurrence: On schedule, Weekly, limit 4, copying checklists → the walkthrough repeats every week until handover.
  4. In Table, he filters Due → This week, ticks 6 tasks and applies Set priority → high → 6 task(s) updated.
  5. He saves the filter as view This week – High with Share with team and Make default → Saved view created.
  6. The client (project Viewer) sees ALN-FIT-43 in their guest view because it is guest-visible; internal notes stay hidden.
