Job Titles

Last updated

Job titles are the positions people hold, for example Sales Executive, Store Supervisor or Accountant. Every employee must have one. You can't save an employee without a job title, so create titles before adding staff. A title can carry a code, a department and a salary range that guides your team when setting pay.

HR owners and administrators maintain the list. Anyone with employee access can browse it.

Where to find it

  • URL: /job-titles.
Who sees it Condition
Menu item and list View employees (hr.employees.view) and your plan includes Job Titles.

Worked examples

Example 1 — create a title for a new hire

Al Noor Trading LLC hires a forklift driver for Dubai Main.

  1. Add Job Title: Job title Forklift Operator, Code FLO, Department Warehouse, Minimum salary 3500, Maximum salary 5000. Save job title.
  2. The row shows 3,500 - 5,000 AED, 0 employees, Active.
  3. HR adds the employee with Job title Forklift Operator. The badge becomes 1 employees, and Job titles with employees goes up by one.

Example 2 — merging two titles

Al Noor has Sales Rep (3 employees) and Sales Executive (5 employees), and wants only Sales Executive, AED 8,000–12,000.

  1. ⋯ → Delete on Sales Rep → This job title cannot be deleted because employees are assigned to it.
  2. HR edits each of the 3 Sales Rep employees (including Sara Khan) in Employees and sets Job title to Sales Executive. Sara is on AED 7,500, below the range. SolaHR saves it anyway. HR raises her to 8,000 in the same edit.
  3. Delete on Sales Rep now succeeds.

Result: Sales Executive shows 8 employees. Total job titles drops by one. The Org Chart cards for the three moved employees now read Sales Executive.
