Audience: customers (the people receiving an invoice or quote) Difficulty: new user
What this covers
If a company you do business with sent you a Solavel link, this page explains what the link is, how to use it, what happens if it stops working, and how to get a fresh one. You do not need a Solavel account to view your document.
What you received
You should have received an email containing a button or a long link that looks like this:
https://solavel.com/finance/i/abc123…
Click it. The page that opens shows the document the company sent you — typically an invoice, a quote, or a receipt — with their letterhead and your details.
You can:
- Read the document.
- Download it as a PDF (button on the page).
- If it's a quote, Accept or Decline it.
- Optionally Set up an account so you can come back any time.
You do not need to sign in to see the document. The link itself is your access pass.
How long the link lasts
24 hours from when it was sent.
After 24 hours the link stops working. This is for security — if your email account were compromised long after, the link would already be useless.
If you need to look at the document past 24 hours:
- Click Set up an account on the document page (while the link
still works), choose a password, and you'll be able to sign in any
time at
https://solavel.com/finance/customer-portal/login. - Or, after the link expires, click Request access on the expiry page — a fresh link is emailed to you.
- Or contact the company that sent you the document and ask them to send again.
"This link is no longer active"
You'll see this message if:
- The 24-hour window has passed.
- The company explicitly revoked the link.
- The document was reassigned to a different customer.
What to do:
- On the same page, click Request access. A fresh link is sent to the email the company has on file for you.
- If the email never arrives, check spam, then contact the company.
"Setup link is invalid or expired"
You'll see this if you used a one-time setup link (for creating an account) that's older than 60 minutes, or if you already used it once.
What to do:
- On the customer portal sign-in page
(
https://solavel.com/finance/customer-portal/login), click Forgot password. - Enter your email. A new reset link arrives within seconds.
- The reset link is also valid for 60 minutes.
Setting up an account (optional)
If you want to come back later and see all your past documents in one place:
- While a fresh secure link is open, click Set up an account.
- Choose a password. Confirm it.
- You're signed in.
- Bookmark
https://solavel.com/finance/customer-portal/login.
From then on, sign in any time. You'll see:
- Dashboard — your open balance.
- Invoices — all invoices the company has sent you.
- Payments — every payment the company has recorded against your account.
- Quotes and Orders — open and historical.
- Settings — change your password.
What the link is not
- It is not a request for payment by clicking. The link only shows the document. To pay, follow whatever instructions appear on the document itself (bank transfer, payment link from a payment processor, etc.).
- It is not a way to chat with the company. Reply by email outside Solavel.
- It is not valid forever. 24 hours.
Privacy
- Solavel records each time the link is opened (timestamp, IP, browser). The company that sent it can see this.
- The link is unique to you and the document. Sharing it lets others see your document.
- The company can revoke the link at any time.
"I need help and the company isn't responding."
Solavel is the platform — the company billing you is the merchant. Solavel can't release a document that the company has revoked. Reach out to the company directly. If you suspect fraud or a phishing attempt, do not click any links and contact your local consumer protection authority.
